Before beginning his acting career, Mark Whalberg was a successful rapper, then known as “Marky Mark.” Along with brother Donnie Whalberg, Mark was a member of the boy band New Kids on the Block in an early version of the band. Mark then formed the band Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch and had a few hits with them.
Whalberg is a devote Roman Catholic and claims to attend church on a daily basis. His wife converted to Catholicism before they were married. Whalberg states while he loves the current Pope, he does not agree with the church’s stance on gay marriage, him being in favor of it.
